Shooting for the blog on the streets of New York is always fun. Love the hustle bustle and the energy around. Last weekend we decided to wake up a bit early so that we are done with the shoot by noon and do other fun things. This is the first time it actually happened and kudos to my husband who was all energized and made we get up early.

Many of you recently asked who takes all my pictures, so I want to let you guys know that its my husband Eric who captures all these shots. Thanks for sending questions and notes! It feels great reading all of them. It’s a huge motivation knowing how my personal style posts inspire so many of you.

The Look:
I love wearing shorts with tights in the cold weather, given that the shorts are actually either completely wool or wool blend so that I stay warm. This week I wore a pair with black dotted sheer tights and a quilted jacket. A classic quilted jacket, once known as a signature of brands like Burberry is back as one of the hottest trend of the season, only difference is – it now comes in many different styles and is much more affordable. This one from H&M is special in many ways. The gold zipper and brown trimming gives it a classic look. It also has an adjustable upper waist that make it appear as a tailored fit. The most special is the price, I only paid $59.99 for such a gem of a style. Just an FYI – This jacket is sold out in H&M but similar styles are available at Zara for $100 and up.

I styled the outfit by adding a silk polka dot scarf by Kate Spade. Love the light pinkish color and the print. As you may know by now that silk scarves are my favorites, and I am going to wear them until I practically can’t, which is in a month from now :-). So October is the best month to flaunt such light accessories and outerwear.

City Chic boot

These ankle boots are by Zara. I know you all would love them too as during the shoot I got lots of compliments from the pedestrians. I even got a shout out from a passing by Taxi where a lady waved at me and said it loud how beautiful she thinks those boots are. It was hilarious to see that happening and I loved her way of expressing it :D.

City Chic bag
The chicness of this bag by Ted Baker is something to admire. The structured shape gives a posh vibes and the bow detail makes it edgy and fun.
