Even though summer has officially ended but for us New Yorkers, it seems Summer has just reached its best. The days have gotten sunnier, prettier and comfortable. To me, the best part is – I can still wear my summer dresses! :). Last week I wore my denim jacket with a patterned slip-dress. A denim jacket works great as a cover-up with all kinds of outfits during a weather like this. It is also a quick and easy pick to style any look. I always get questions on how to choose a perfect cropped denim jacket that is versatile and ageless. I personally stay away from the too short and too long ones. A perfect length is the one with hemline ending approximately 2 to 3 inches above the waist, which is long enough to look elegant and short enough to look trendy. This is an ideal length that works perfect with skirts and dresses. Another important factor to consider is the wash. For a weather like this, a light or medium wash works great vs. a dark wash, which looks more appealing in a cold weather.
I added a stick necklace in bib style by Aqua. Wearing a spaghetti strap dresses usually makes your frame look bigger, and a statement necklace does the slimming effect by covering some exposed area. In addition, it adds more character to the outfit.
For shoes, I picked an ankle strap sandals by Steve Madden. I love the barely there ankle strap, which is hard to find in this style. Usually either the strap is too slim or the buckle is too big, and looks out of proportion. Another thing I must mention is – I usually don’t wear a sandal with too slim toe strap as it easily highlights my hammer toe. Yes, I have got one :-/ and I try to hide it all the time. So the point is, these pair would look great on any feet!.
This bag is on sale and it looks even prettier in person. I love the color and the simplicity of it. The neutral color gives you the freedom to carry it along with any outfit without thinking much.
